Knowledge gained:
During these few months of experience in this course I
have learned how to take advantage of the tools that have been provided to me
by my tutor. At the idea how I was
going to use these tools in the appropriate way for I am not someone who knows
a lot about technology. Working with the first tools was a hard time, but then my
problems were disappearing at the time to experience with the other tools because
I could learn how to use them by trying. Also, I could realize how useful they
are because with these tools a teacher can develop a different class with the
use of technology and not only the normal class with books, copies and the whiteboard.
What attitude must be needed to work with online
tools?
I think that the attitude that is needed in order to work with online
tools is a positive attitude and at the same time is needed a little of patience.
We need a positive attitude because the attitude you take toward your task can
make you pass a nice and easy experience or a bad and difficult moment because
if you think since the very first moment that you cannot do sometime, your
brain is going to set that idea and as a result everything is going to be wrong
because of your same thoughts. Patience is another important part because you can
have the positive attitude and think that everything is going to work well at
the first try, but it is not just in that way because the tools are not always going
to work well, and sometimes we need to try and try many time as possible in
order to get the best results.
How these tools can be implemented in other
subjects?
I think that there are many ways in which we can use the tools in other
subjects because they have different advantages.
For example voicethread can be implemented at different subjects because offers to the teacher options in which he can work with their stuols are:
The teacher can ask students to create and share a video about a
specific topic, comment about pictures or different themes in a written form or
by recording their voice.
Blogger is another really useful tool that can be implemented in most of the subjects because through this tools teachers can ask students to write journals, entries about different topics or their opinion about something in specific, etc.
Another tool that can be really useful for teachers is the hot potato tool
because they can develop multiple choice tests, scramble sentences, crosswords
for teaching new vocabulary, readings comprehensions and match activities.
What are some things that
should be added or left out in a future course?
I
think that we learned how to implement a lot of new tools during this course, but
technology is changing constantly so my recommendation is to look for more
tools for the new groups in order they can be updated with them because there
can be more options and advantages.
